About Kate

I write heartfelt stories about the quiet, often unseen moments that shape a life. I’m drawn to the tenderness beneath the surface — the small decisions, the complicated relationships, the private turning points that change us in ways we don’t always notice at first.

My work is rooted in warmth and honesty. I’m interested in what it means to come home to yourself, especially after loss, upheaval, or the slow accumulation of ordinary struggles. I believe in the power of story to offer companionship — the feeling that even in our most private thoughts, we are not alone.

I live in Edinburgh with my two children, where much of my writing begins in long walks, half-formed notes, and conversations that linger. When I’m not writing, I’m usually reading, walking, swimming or exploring a new part of this immense planet and as I do so, noticing the details that later find their way into my work.

This is only the beginning. I’m currently working on further stories, each exploring new emotional landscapes while holding onto the same warmth and honesty at their core.

I hope my books feel like a steady presence — something to return to, something that meets you where you are.
